Authentic Worship is Sung

One of the classes I’m taking at seminary this semester is on Christian Worship.  We’ve read several books for this class but the last one, With One Voice: Discovering Christ’s Song in Our Worship by Reggie Kidd has probably been the best.  I’ll be sharing some quotes from that book over the next week or more.  Here’s the first:

“A theology that cannot be sung is not worth having either.  Authentic Christian faith is not merely believed.  Nor is it merely acted upon.  It is sung–with utter joy sometimes, in uncontrollable tears sometimes, but is sung.”

–Reggie Kidd, With One Voice (Grand Rapids, MI: Baker Books), p 13.
