Helpful Reflections

Two reflections that I’m finding especially helpful this morning as I deal with some stuff.  Both are by Benedict of Nursia (circa 6th century).  The first is a prayer.  The second is a quotation.

“O gracious and holy Father,
Give us wisdom to perceive you,
intelligence to understand you,
diligence to seek you,
patience to wait for you,
eyes to see you,
a heart to meditate on you,
and a life to proclaim you,
through the power of the Spirit of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.”

“Do not be daunted immediately by fear and run away from the road that leads to salvation. It is bound to be narrow at the outset. But as we progress in this way of life and faith, we shall run on the path of God’s commandments, our hearts overflowing with the expressible delight of love.”

One Response to “Helpful Reflections”

  1. What a beautiful prayer.
Please pray for Ronnie Tatro today,
He is not doing well and has been
in intensive care since last week.
    His last chemo treatment was
    really hard on his lungs.
    Thinking about you and your
    family
