The Sound of Music?

I came across an excellent blog post today by Brian Dipert, Senior Technical Editor at EDN. The post is titled, The Fading Sound (And Influence) Of Music. In it, he asserts that no one really listens to music anymore. Instead, we use music for background noise, time-passing, and motivation for exercise.

This may sound extremely unimportant, but he goes on to detail how this mindset of music directly effects copyright infringement, the lack of zeal in home theater development, and finally, overall sound quality. His thoughts on copyright infringement were especially noteworthy to me – putting the topic in a new dimension that I had not previously considered.

Give his post a read here and come back and share your thoughts with a comment.
